The original Trolly Hall was built in Castle Street by Henry Robinson, and provided a location where the local gentry could find suitable entertainment. It was frequently honoured with the presence of George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham. However, in 1725, a fire destroyed most of Castle Street. Subsequently Trolly Hall was rebuilt by Charles Blunt, an ironmonger.
